Lawrence Charles Meyer, 68, Of Hopewell Junction

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- Lawrence Charles Meyer, 68, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 16 years and formerly of the Bronx, died Saturday, Nov. 21.

Born Dec. 21, 1946, in the Bronx, Meyer was the son of Lawrence and Katherine Hughes Meyer. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was employed by the New York Police Department in the 43rd, 23rd and 48th precincts until his retirement as a detective. 

He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and a member of the Theodore Korony Post, American Legion in Throgs Neck, the New York Police Department Police Benevolent Association and the Detective Endowment Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time on Facebook. On June 2, 1968, at St. Helen’s Church in the Bronx, he married Barbara Pilecki, who survives at home.

Meyer also is survived by his daughter, Donna Frawley and her husband Patrick of Hopewell Junction; his granddaughter, Caitlin Frawley; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara Meyer of Las Vegas, Nev; and his niece, Theresa Meyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
